The short month of November was a low scoring one in the Bragging Rights Dream Team league, with few heavy-scoring performances. Indeed, with only 58 points separating top from bottom in the monthly table, it really was “the month when nothing happened”. It is no surprise then, that the Manager of the Month award was shared for the first time, with managers Cargin and Doherty perched on top of the monthly tree with 147 points apiece.

For Doherty, the result caps an outstanding run of recent form, which has seen his ironically-named Nohopers climb to the top of the overall table and be firmly installed as bookies’ favourites for the title. Cargin, on the other hand, is more of a rags-to-riches tale, with his Smokie’s Revenge outfit recovering from early-season woes to turn a relegation-threatened position into mid-table safety

The awards dinner was an unusually sombre affair, with most teams choosing to send a member of the coaching staff rather than the manager. In most cases, this was due to ongoing preparations for the busy weekend schedule, but in a few others it is suspected that they were just too ashamed to show their face in public.
